Full TIme IR Scheduler-Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for advanced level scheduling, working with referring offices, patients and hospital staff to ensure accurate, prompt, courteous scheduling and obtaining authorizations for appointments.

In addition, this position includes acting as a liaison in reporting patients concerns to the interventional physicians or interventional team. This role entails frequent communication with physicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone calls concerning scheduling and procedures. Effectively use the telephone system or through alternate electronic communications, ensuring prompt and verifiable responses.
  • Communicate pertinent information regarding procedure, including exam preparations to patients.
  • Enter patient and appointment data into computerized scheduling system. Schedule appointments to maximize the efficiency of the room.  Ensure all patient special needs are noted in the computer system.
  • Print and supply schedules to physicians at appropriate times.
  • Obtain and coordinate authorizations or notification for all procedures as needed.
  • Contact referring physician offices for information and documents pertinent to the scheduled procedure.
  • Utilize online and computerized fax order system to organize patient referrals.
  • Comply with SDI’s compliance, safety and personnel policies.
  • Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:

  • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills when answering telephones, assisting patients, and referring physician’s offices.
  • Completes high volume of data entry, scanning, copying/faxing, EHR/EMR access, filing, inter-office communications, and research in company computer systems as related to scheduled appointments.
  • Acts as customer service representative to internal and external guests to facilitate internal, referring physician and patient needs.

Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist-Oceanside

Position Summary:

Perform a wide variety of technical procedures with quality patient care, assisting Physicians as needed and communicate findings to Radiologists as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates skill in the use of sensitive ultrasonography equipment to obtain accurate and meaningful results. Obtain patient’s history and show correlation of the clinical history with the test performed. Communicates effectively with radiologists the results of the ultrasound exams.
  • With the assistance of the radiologists, develop, implement, and communicate ultrasound techniques with all Ultrasound Technologists.
  • Ensures the patient flow within the department is constant and organized.
  • Facilitates referring physicians’ requests.
  • Adheres to departmental policy, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates skills in the proficient use of PACS and RIS.
  • Obtains the highest quality images possible, assuring the anatomical area of interest is captured on image as completely as possible.

Per Diem CT Technologist-Oceanside

Position Summary:

Performs examinations utilizing CT (computed tomography) equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Communicate findings to Radiologist as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates skill in the use of sensitive CT equipment to obtain accurate and meaningful results; obtaining patient’s history and showing correlation of the clinical history with the test performed. Communicates effectively with radiologist(s) to obtain proper CT scanning protocol instructions to follow for patient’s specific medical needs, indication for exam and/or diagnosis.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding and application of radiation safety with regard to patient and staff safety with the use of CT equipment.
  • Screens patient for any contraindications for CT scanning and contrast administration. Obtains and reviews laboratory values for patients receiving IV contrast and communicates any abnormal results with the radiologist(s).
  • Obtains the highest quality images possible, ensuring the anatomical area of interest is captured on images as completely as possible.
  • Use correct and antiseptic techniques to start intravenous lines on patients as needed for the administration of IV Contrast. Administers IV contrast as per the protocol instruction from radiologist and monitors patients for any possible adverse reactions. Discontinue intravenous lines as needed.
  • Maintains equipment calibration by performing quality control tests according to established procedures and frequency schedule.
  • Demonstrates skills in the proficient use of PACS.
  • Prints film and/or CD of images when necessary.
  • Assists in training new CT Technologist, as directed by the Lead Technologist.
  • Practice sterile and isolation techniques to prevent cross-contamination and infection. Maintains cleanliness and disinfects equipment, supplies and room as needed.
  • Maintains a high quality of patient care. Communicates in a positive and timely manner with co-workers, physicians, patients, and visitors.

Position Summary:

Accurately and safely performs examinations utilizing MR equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Communicates findings to Radiologist as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Obtains the highest quality MR imaging possible, assuring the anatomical area of interest is imaged as completely as possible.
  • Demonstrates skill and proficiencies in the use of sensitive MRI equipment to obtain accurate and meaningful results, reviews referring physician orders and any additional medical history, obtains patient’s history and shows correlation of the clinical history with the anatomy covered on the MRI examination.
  • Prior to allowing anyone to enter the MRI exam room(s), carefully and completely screens all patients, and others entering the MRI scan room(s), for any safety issues and contraindications with regard to the specifics of being in a strong magnetic field.
  • Verifies patient identification by asking patient, or family member if applicable, complete name, date of birth, reason for examination/procedure and area to be examined. For patients from the hospital, also verifies information on the patient’s identification bracelet.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and skills with the proficient use of PAC and RIS systems, and other systems as required.
  • Ensures equipment calibration by performing quality control tests according to established procedures and frequency schedule.
  • Practices sterile and isolation techniques resulting in the prevention of cross-contamination and infection.
  • Maintains a high quality of patient care.
  • Prints CDs or film when necessary.
  • Communicates in a positive and timely manner with co-workers, physicians, patients, and visitors.

Bone Densitometry Tech (DEXA)-Chula Vista

DEXA Technician

(Dual Energy X-ray Absorption)

Position Summary:  Successfully operates Dual Energy X-ray Absorption (DEXA) equipment while obtaining accurate and complete imaging for patients to measure the calcium content of bones and to screen for, diagnose, manage, and treat osteopenia/osteoporosis and other metabolic diseases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates skill and abilities in the use of Bone Density equipment to obtain accurate and meaningful results, obtaining patient’s history and show correlation of the clinical history with the test performed.
  • Demonstrates skills in the proficient use of RIS and PACS. Ensures reports and images are sent to PACS and / or RIS.
  • Obtains the highest quality images possible, assuring the anatomical area of interest is imaged as completely as possible.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding and application of radiation safety with regard to patient and staff safety with the use of bone density equipment.
  • Ensures equipment calibration by performing quality control tests according to established procedures and frequency schedule.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within prescribed exam times.
  • Computer skills/proficiencies, preferably with a RIS (Radiology Information System) and PACS.

Full Time  Executive Director-Chula Vista

Position Summary:

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, efficiencies and operations of the imaging center, effective management of human resources, development and implementation of policies, procedures, budgeting and short and long-term forecasting, ensuring image quality, assisting with the development of marketing plan, and attaining objectives as set forth by the Board of Management and the Executive Director of Operations.  San Diego Imaging Management (SDIM) will provide management support and direction as defined in the provisions of the Management Agreement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure Imaging Center’s efficient operations and that service quality meets the highest standards.
  • Develops, updates, implements and trains staff on policies and procedures for the Imaging Center’s operation.
  • Attend and participate in Board of Management Meetings on an ex-officio basis.
  • Communicate, on an ongoing basis with the Executive Director or Operations, the Board of Management members and Medical Director(s), the Imaging Center’s progress, issues, challenges and solutions. Present recommendations to the Board of Management for possible action, resolution or improvement.
  • Prepare the Imaging Center’s proposed annual capital equipment and operational budget for presentation to the Board of Management. Successfully manage and monitor the approved budgets.
  • Prepare and present operating summaries, including financial performance, to the Board of Management on a regular basis. Analyze the Imaging Center’s performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that the Imaging Center is staffed appropriately and efficiently, accountable for human resources functions and activities including: staff development, attraction and retention, compensation/benefits plan design, regulatory reporting, training, etc. Set agenda, plan and conduct regular staff meetings.
  • Ensure that safety and other required trainings for all staff at the Imaging Center are completed on an ongoing basis.
  • Attend and participate in hospital-sponsored training/enrichment (i.e. Sharp Experience) on an ongoing basis. Ensure that employees are trained accordingly.
  • Supervise and direct staff necessary to effectively carry out the objectives and policies of the Imaging Center.
  • Establish and implement operation and business plans that support the service, quality, efficiencies, volume, and profitability goals, with their respective strategies as set by the Board of Management and Medical Director(s).
  • Establish and maintain strong physician relations and facilitate communication between physicians and staff.
  • Liaison with Imaging Center’s accountants, legal counsel, and consultants.
  • Identify possible market expansion opportunities and enact or support marketing strategies to achieve volume goals as approved by the Board of Management.
  • Maintains confidentiality 100% of the time; demonstrates complete discretion when discussing physician, patient and staff information.
    • Develops and maintains a positive working environment that sustains employee morale and productivity.
  • Responsible for a high level of patient satisfaction.
  • Administration of PAC’s system, including troubleshooting and interfacing with Sharp HealthCare Information Technology Department.
