Paracentesis and Thoracentesis are procedures to remove fluid that has accumulated in the abdominal cavity (peritoneal fluid), a condition called ascites, or between the lungs and chest wall (pleural space). The fluid is removed using image-guidance and a needle inserted through the abdominal or chest wall.
