Water4Kids International

UgandaRick Padelford, our Executive Vice President, has twice traveled to Uganda (2012 and 2014)  as a volunteer with Water4Kids International.  Almost half the world – over three billion people – lives on less than $2.50 a day. Hundreds of millions of people lack access to the basic essentials of life: food, clean water, shelter, education, and basic health care. The lack of clean water in remote villages leads to members of the community drinking from contaminated water sources and dying from preventable diseases and disorders like E. coli, cholera, and dysentery.

Well DedicationWater4Kids International is committed to fighting the global water crisis by drilling deep-water wells and providing water filtration devices in East Africa. Water4Kids strategically drills deep-water wells in close proximity to primary schools, medical clinics, and trading centers.  Through 2013, Water4Kids International had drilled 316 wells in East Africa.  Rick considers Eastern Uganda as part of his community as he stays in daily contact with African friends via Facebook and Email.
