DEXA – Bone Density Study

Bone Densitometry (DEXA – Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry) is an imaging technology that safely, accurately and painlessly measures bone density and mineral content of the spine, hip, and wrist in order to determine the risk of developing osteoporosis.

Considered the most reliable measurement of bone density, DEXA scans are used for both assessment of potential osteoporosis risk and for follow-up serial measurements.
